Laura Williams, BFA
Remote Business Development Consultant, Stoneground Paint Co.
Laura is the newest member of the team at Stoneground Paint Company, joining remotely as a Business Development Consultant. She is coming to this role from a decade of experience and fascination with watercolours— which brought her through her painting degree at Alberta University of the Arts, in Calgary, where she focused on sustainability, folklore, and community in her work—combined with a dedication to ethical and people-first business practices, which brought her to Camosun College’s Business Administration program, in the General Management stream. The program at Camosun also meant Laura’s return to her beautiful hometown of Victoria, BC, from where she is working remotely.
Since September 7 of this year, she has been working with us to develop consumer brand knowledge and build a wider retailer base to carry our products. Laura is particularly focused on maintaining our small-batch, slow process, local origins while growing the business with a concerted effort on education resources for consumers and product development in sustainable directions.
She will be building our brand value and awareness in the eyes of retailers and our community here in North America, using her years of local art retail inventory and purchasing experience as an asset. Her keen interest in communicating product quality coupled with her dedication to promoting local and shopping Canadian product in her personal life will be essential to her role at the company.
When she’s not in the office, Laura can be found painting in her home studio, swimming at the local pool, or cooking ambitious meals she’s never tried.
